Becoming A Brother

Pledge Program

Although chapters differ, the pledging process is typically conducted in weekly meetings over a six- to ten-week period. Meetings are conducted by pledge class officers under the direction and supervision of a pledge educator. Meetings allow Brothers-in-training to learn about Fraternity administration and to facilitate initial social interactions within the group.

Meetings are divided into two parts: instruction and planning. During the instructional section, Fraternity operations are discussed. With the pledge class officers presiding, pledge members plan their social events during the planning section.

Membership Classifications

Membership in Delta Lambda Phi is open to men, irrespective of race, color, creed, or sexual orientation.

Membership is conferred by a chapter upon that chapter’s approval of a prospective member, and after the prospective member fulfills the National Fraternity’s membership requirements.

Pledgeship may be conferred upon men who are selected by a chapter to participate in a period of preparation and training in the ideals and purposes of Delta Lambda Phi.

Active membership is conferred upon men who successfully complete the pledgeship period.

Honorary membership may be conferred upon men who have contributed significantly to the ideals and purposes of Delta Lambda Phi.
